Willie, affectionately nicknamed "Ray", was born on December 26, 1946, in Bascom, Florida, to William Patterson, Sr., and Bernice Patterson.
Willie attended the public schools in Marianna, Florida. He worked 25 years for Pan American Linen. He cared for his loving mother until her passing on January 3rd, 2018.
Willie enjoyed the retired life, gardening, and cooking big meals. He was known for his famous sweet potato pies and collard greens. Willie was a faithful member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, in Marianna, Florida, Rev. Dwight Cockerham, until his health failed on July 21st, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Patterson, Sr., and Bernice Patterson; son, Willie J. Patterson, II; sisters, Irene Dickens, and Viola Roberts; and brother, Robert Patterson.
He leaves precious memories with his devoted children, Wilma Miles, Sherry Walker (Alvin), Willie J. Patterson III (U.S. Army), James Lassiter (Patricia), and Mary Brown (Robert); grandchildren, Frederick Andrew III ( U.S. Navy), Dominique Walker, K'La Walker, Marcus Miles (U.S. Army), Willie Patterson IV, Amos Patterson, Malacyea Patterson, Keon Cameron Levy, Carrington Levy, Kennedy Levy, Naomi Patterson, Cherica Bowman, Shaqueena Dennison, Genquetta Smith, Nakeshia Woody, Donald Williams, Ronald Williams, Desma Lassiter, Janqueena Dennsion, Mario Dennison, Michealquin Dennison, Jay Lassiter, Eric Lassiter, Nyethia Jean Louis, Joshua Hamm, and Jahred Lassiter; 38 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, William Patterson II, and Johnnie Wayne Patterson of Miami, FL; sisters, Mavis Hooks (John), Catherine Baskin (Billy), and Eva Shavers all of Miami, FL; uncles, Wilson Williams, Cornelius Williams all of Miami, FL, and Hardy Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; devoted friends, Sharon White and Ben Dickens.
