Willie Singleterry,
Jr.
September 22, 1935 – June 20, 2022
Willie was born in Americus, GA, on September 22, 1935. He was the oldest of 11 siblings. He spent most of his life as a resident of Tampa, FL, enjoying fishing, car repairing, driving semi-trucks, CB radio talking, and casino cruises.
Willie attended the schools of Hillsborough County. As a young man, Willie worked for the Hillsborough County Sherriffs Department. He later went on to become a big rig truck driver. As an experienced truck driver, he could quickly map and give directions within the southeastern states. During his time as a driver, he discovered CB radio talking, it was his passion. He was locally known as "Sugarfoot 619".
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Fannie Lou Singleterry, and daughter, Wanda.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his lifelong companion, Everaleen Hough; children, Cathara, Cynthia, Linda, Ronald, Valerie, Carol, Carla, Irvin, Vendarei, Sonia, Teresa, Latasha, Ruhtelia, Keishaun, Steve, Vicky, Diane, Marvin, and Don; in addition to a host of siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
