Winsome Beverly Allen, affectionately known as "Winnie," was born on May 29, 1962, in Orange Hill, St. Ann, Jamaica, West Indies, to the late Zaccheus and Ena Allen. The eleventh of twelve children, Winsome was raised in a loving, close-knit family grounded in strong values, faith, resilience, and perseverance. She developed a deep and abiding love for the Lord that became the foundation of her life, that shaped her character, and strengthened her through every chapter of her journey.

Winsome received her early education in Jamaica at Ocho Rios Primary School and Ocho Rios High School. In 1983, she courageously migrated to the United States, settling in Boston, Massachusetts, where she embraced new opportunities with determination and grace. In 1995, she relocated to Tampa, Florida, which became her home for the remainder of her life. Wherever Winsome lived, she built community, shared love, and carried with her an unshakable trust in God's guidance.

A true lifelong learner, Winsome valued education as a pathway to growth and service. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Behavioral Sciences from National Louis University and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Nova Southeastern University, along with additional Human Resources studies at Northeastern University. Her academic achievements reflected her discipline, curiosity, and commitment to excellence, qualities that defined both her personal and professional life.

With more than 30 years of experience in Human Resources, Winsome built a remarkable and respected career spanning healthcare and hospitality. She held leadership roles at the Omni Parker House Hotel, Quest Diagnostics, Kobie Marketing, and Johnson & Johnson. Known for her integrity, sound judgment, and compassionate leadership style, Winsome had a unique ability to balance business acumen with genuine care for people. She led with empathy, fairness, and wisdom, earning the trust and admiration of colleagues and employees.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Winsome lived a rich and joyful life filled with creativity and generosity. She found great pleasure in cooking, sewing, and crocheting, gifts she lovingly shared with family and friends. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and comfort.

Winsome was known for her strength, determination, nurturing spirit, and steadfast faith; Her greatest joy and proudest role was being a mother. Her beloved daughter, Mya, was truly the center of her life. Everything Winsome did was motivated by her profound love and devotion to her daughter, and she poured herself wholeheartedly into nurturing, guiding, and supporting her. As a mother, sister, aunt, mentor, and friend, Winsome touched countless lives through her wisdom, kindness, and laughter.

Winsome will be celebrated and remembered for her deep faith, her boundless love for her family, her dedication to her work, and the powerful impact she made on everyone she encountered. Her legacy is one of love, service, strength, and grace, a legacy that continues to live on through her daughter, her family, and the many lives she so beautifully influenced.

Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit, lessons, and love will remain forever cherished. Winsome was predeceased by her siblings, Annette Allen-Smith and Euerol Allen. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Mya; her brothers Glenford, Yvil, and Alfred Allen; her sisters Curline, Pauline, Pastoria, Venesha, Hyacinth, and Delrose Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing and loving her.
