Obituary

Mr. Xavier Rashad Harris was born on October 24, 1994, in Tampa, FL, to Dukes Harris, Jr. and Turekisha Boyd. Xavier affectionately known as "Zay," lived life boldly and joyfully, embracing every moment with passion and authenticity. He was a wise, courageous, adventurous, loving, and humorous man whose presence could brighten any room he entered—often without uttering a single word. Zay loved traveling, shopping, and, most of all, spending time with his family. He was truly the life of the party, known for his infectious energy, radiant smile, and warm spirit. Xavier lived and loved life to the fullest, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

A friendly and outgoing individual, Xavier's personality shone throughout his professional career. He began his journey in hospitality at the young age of 16 with Burger King Corporation. Through dedication, hard work, and ambition, he quickly rose through the ranks, earning multiple promotions along the way. By the age of 21, Xavier was appointed Regional Manager, becoming the youngest individual to hold that position in the Tampa Bay area at the time. This role introduced him to professional travel, allowing him to work across Florida and further expand his leadership skills. After successfully fulfilling his ambitions with Burger King Corporation, Zay continued to make an impact by supporting and contributing to the growth of several locally owned Black businesses in the Tampa area, including 7th + Grove and Lepley's Kitchen & Lounge. He genuinely enjoyed promoting local establishments and creating meaningful connections within his community, leaving behind a legacy of encouragement, collaboration, and pride. Xavier was a proud graduate of Jefferson High School, class of 2013.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving father, Dukes Harris, Jr. (Nicci); mother, Turekisha Boyd (Ryan); brothers, Dukes Harris III and Kevon Spain (Joquana); sisters, Kiana Spain and Duquavia Harris; grandparents, Jackie Boyd, and Maxcille Harris (Lawrence Sr.); great-grandmother, Addie Boyd; aunts, Drashonda Fontaine (Lawson) and Keila Jones; uncle, Lawrence Terrell III; niece, Kelise Buie; nephews, Kaiden Buie and Kreed Buie; great-aunts, Belinda Brown, and Robin Boyd-Rumlin; great uncles, Jerry Boyd (Lena), James Boyd, Bernard Boyd (Dana), Otis Boyd (Lewanna); a few of his many special cousins are Laniya, Lawson Jr., Ian, DJ, Caleb, LaDeana, Gabrielle, Bernecia, Darreon, Monique, Mikey (Quil), Romell, Tariq, Jazz, Alana, Belaan, Jessica, Kendra (Randy), Takeiah, Karnesia (Roe), Reca (Masable), Shombie, Samantha, and a host of other loving, sorrowing cousins and friends who will forever miss his radiant smile and warm hugs; along with a host of other sorrowing cousins and relatives who will forever miss his radiant smile and warm hugs. He is also lovingly remembered by his special and close friends, Xavier Collins, Tiara Brown, Caroline Riley, Kendall Dukes and Lori Mills, and many others whose lives he touched. Though Xavier's time with us was far too short, his legacy of love, laughter, ambition, and community impact will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
