Homegoing graveside services for Mrs. Yvonne Hawkins Jones of 10619 N. 25th Street, who passed away, Sunday, November 1, 2009, will be held on Thursday, November 5th, 2:00 p.m., Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Yvonne Hawkins Jones was born December 15, 1938, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Mr. Tilton Hawkins and Mrs. Mattie Lee Wright. She departed this life at University Community Hospital surrounded by family and friends. Her early education was received in the public school systems of Duval County and New York City, graduating from Middleton High School in Tampa. At her demise, Yvonne was retired from the University of South Florida. Yvonne leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories: a loving and devoted son, Darrell (Emma) Dawson of Tallahassee, Florida; brothers, Sylvester (Chloe) Hawkins and Paul (Ernestine) Hawkins, Jacksonville, Florida, Kevin (Wareerat) Hawkins, Perris, California, Roger Wright, Jr., and Reginald Wright, Tampa, and Ricky Wright (Vanessa), Atlanta, Georgia; sisters, Debra Wright, Tampa, Florida and Cecile Hawkins O'Brien (Phillip), Hempstead, New York; and a special and devoted friend, Mr. Willie Davenport, Tampa, Florida. Yvonne is also survived by step-daughters, Sheryll (Samuel) Harris and Melonia (Paul) Bandks and grandchildren, Andre, Ayana, and Ashanti of Philadelphia, PA. She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. Yvonne has a special place in her heart for her grandson, Darrell Amari Dawson, Tallahassee, Florida; granddaughter, Daria C. Dawson, Birmingham, Alabama; great granddaughter, Amariah Dawson, Atlanta, Georgia and host of nieces and nephews and other family members and devoted friends including, Earlene Henderson and Retha Hobbs. The viewing will be held on Thursday, November 5th, at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be no viewing at the gravesite.
