Zemmery, affectionately nicknamed, "Zee", was born on April 20, 1957, in Waycross, Georgia, to Zemmery Cecil, Sr. and Lorene Grant.

His favorite activities were cooking, dancing, and listening to music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zemmery Cecil, Sr. and Lorene Grant; brother, Allen Cecil; and grandparents, Otis and Willie Mae Wootten.

He leaves precious memories with his wife, Carrie Cecil; children, Antonio Cecil, Stephen Cecil (Thora), Stephanie Johnson (Frank), and Tanna Peeler (Rod); a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Michael Cecil (Yolanda); sister, Carol Walker-Cecil; aunt, Ann Wagner; uncle, Alfonso Cecil; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Larry Danzey, Rev. Walter Crawford, and Penny.
