Obituary

Homegoing services for Mrs. Zezony Sims Allen of Tampa who passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011, will be held on Saturday, October 22nd, 11:00 a.m., Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Rev. Jerome Griffin, Pastor of Evening Star Tabernacle M.B. Church, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Zezony was born on December 6, 1959 in Tampa, Florida. She enjoyed decorating, cleaning, dressing nice, dancing, wearing hair styles, listening to music, collecting unique items and studied piano. She was a graduate of Brandon High School, class of 1977 and attended HCC and received an associate degree in Business. She was in fast food management and was currently working for Walmart, where she had been employed for 16years. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmore Alfonzo Sims, Jr.; mother, Don Jean Sims; grandparents, Elmore A. Sims, Sr., and Rosa Lee Smith Sims Potter, Otis Potter, Emmett Williams and Rosa Mary McCray Williams McDonald and Lloyd McDonald; great grandmother, Wilma Smith Brooks and George Smith, Oliver Brooks and Mr. Dollar Bill. She leaves a loving husband, E. Leonard Allen; children, Robert L. Fisher and Maurice Beckford; stepchildren, Joshua Allen (Lanice), Erica Allen, Sherry Allen; mother-in-law, Ms. Eunice Collins; siblings, Gloria V. Sims (Clarence Townes), Y'Yony Redd (James), Kasony Sims, Elmore A. Sims III, Q'quony Davis (Karl) and Tony Smith; nephews, Marquis Robinson, Jairus Redd, Jacob Redd, James Redd, Jr., Karl Davis, Jr. (Janie), Keenan Davis and Taylib Smith; nieces, LaTonya Sims, LaToya Sims, Shanquanisha Sims and Kayla Davis; cousins, Pearlie Mae Proctor (James), Alphonso Thomas (Shirley), Gregory Jones, Gordon Jones (Yvonne) Gail (Candy) Jones (Claudette), Robert Johnson (Joy). The Berry's family of Clearwater; aunts, Dorothy Mae Saunders and Clyde Saunders of San Antonio, TX; Debra Whitworth of Shreveport, LA; uncle, Robert Charles Williams of Shreveport, LA; and a host of other great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A special thanks to Walmart. The viewing will be at Aikens Funeral from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the Chapel on Saturday at 10:45 a.m. for the service.
