Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Jean Green was born on September 20, 1947, in Tampa, Florida, to Leonard Campbell, Sr., and Julia Mae Campbell. She built a life marked by dedication, creativity, and unmistakable style. She was a proud graduate of Middleton Senior High School, class of 1965, and went on to devote more than 30 years of service to Hillsborough County as a procurement analyst. Throughout her career, Barbara was an active member of several professional procurement organizations, earning respect for her knowledge, commitment, and professionalism.

Barbara's life extended far beyond her career. She had a deep love for Christmas and delighted in collecting unusual ornaments and decorations that reflected her joyful and whimsical nature. Her profound sense of fashion was a lifelong passion, expressed through her love of jewelry, shoes, and hats, and she wore each with confidence and flair. Barbara was creative, passionate, and genuinely funny, with a way of making people feel both seen and uplifted. She will be remembered not only for her accomplishments but for the warmth of her personality and the way she inspired those around her.

One of Barbara's favorite quotes perfectly captures her approach to life and relationships: "Find people who make you better."

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Campbell, Sr., and Julia Mae Campbell; son, James Green, Jr.; daughters, Ava Green and Fenita Bellamy; brother, William Campbell, Sr.; and sister, Barbara Ann Maxwell.

She leaves cherished memories to her husband, James Green, Sr.; sons, Bruce Green and Tony Green (Evonne) of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Aviance Gilley and Madison Green; brothers, Dr. Leonard Campbell, Jr. (Sarah), Alford Campbell (Alberta) and Harold Campbell, Sr. (Angie) of Seffner, FL; sisters, Novelar Cherry and Vernell Savage (Alfonso, Sr.) of Seffner, FL; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and godson, Charzell Baker (Sheri).
