Debra Jean Carter Wilson of Tampa passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2026. Debra was born on August 30, 1960, in Tampa, Florida, to the late London Bryant and Josephine Brown Carter. She was raised in Tampa and attended Hillsborough High School, graduating with the class of 1978. She later furthered her education at Hillsborough Community College, where she completed her AA degree in nursing. Debra devoted many years of faithful service in the healthcare field and retired as a nurse from BayCare Health System. She was known for her caring spirit, compassion for others, and dedication to helping those in need. Most importantly, Debra was a devoted servant of Jehovah and a cherished member of Jehovah's Witnesses - Knollwood. Her faith, kindness, and warm smile touched many lives.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Brown Carter; father, London Bryant; brother, David Joe Carter; uncle, John Brown; and grandparents, Daisy Mae Jordan and Jake Brown of Bradenton, Florida.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her husband, Henry Wilson; daughter, Joanna Miller (Waldarious); sons, Joseph Burden (LaShunda), Henry Wilson, Jr. (Charese), and Martimer Wilson (Tanesha); godson, Keith Meeks; bonus daughters, Shara Germain (Joel) and Kathleen Lindsay; brother, Michael Carter (Rhonda); grandchildren, Ja’Kel Burden, Jay’lin Burden, Zachyra Wilson, Rodney Wilson, Jozzlyn Burden, Ja’Kayla Wilson, Henry Wilson III, Kemari Meeks, Keshari Meeks, Jordyn Miller, Elijah Wilson, Demilee Wilson, Dallas Jones, Monte Wilson, Justice Miller, and Landan Wilson; bonus grandchildren, Sarai Covington, Ethan Jacobs, and Logan Jacobs; nephew, Issac Carter; niece, Shaundra Jones; along with a host of extended family members, dear friends and loved ones whose lives she touched deeply.
